| Hmm... I'm just wondering if its really a wise idea to put the bible on here. With the division of church and state chrap. I don't mind, but, I don't know if its really the wisest idea with alot of people opposed to it. | |

| I'm not opposed to it. We probably won't have a whole lot to say, though, since I assume that most everyone here is Christian. But, who knows, some non-Christian might come on here and spark some debate... But I'm not opposed to it. | |

| We have the constitutional right to talk about it on here. The unconstitutional feds at DC need to get lost and let mind their own buisness. lol I must say I definentally dont read the Bible as much as I should... We read it for devotions as a family after every meal but I dont read it alone like I should. Right now I am memorizing the book of James. | |

| The kind that follow Christ. I put no stock in religion, various acts have been carried out by countless extremists in the name of religion. What God wants of me is my mind, and my heart. | |

| Christ died on the cross. That is only one of three things that he did that was important. The other things were the Atonment of Christ, through which we can be saved and the ressurection of Christ, which defeated the bands of the grave and we can return to live with our father in heaven. | |

| Everyone who has read the bibles know quite a bit about Jesus. I was looking at the back of a case for that movie The Devinci Code. Pretty sad, not THATS an infulencel film right there. Trying to say that He had a romantic life, WITH Mary Magdalene. | |

| So are you saying it is alright to be pessimistic? Philipians 4:8 Doenst have "whatever things are pessimistic" in the list...
Besides doesnt it say in Mattew 16... "He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar–jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." That verse says that the Church will conquer hell. Notice it says "the gates of hell SHALL NOT PREVAIL against it." This is a picture of the Church battering down the very gates of the city hell... But hell shall not prevail.
Also if everything has to get bad before Christ comes and Christs coming signifies the near end of Satans time on earth, then why would Satan fight the Church knowing that very soon after when he defeats it he will be thrown in hell? | |

| Hehehehe. Actually Lee(and Civ ), the Bible is not so clear as to when Jesus will make his return. All it says is that he will come like a thief in the night, and thats about the clearest picture we have of it. It doesnt give us a date, even revalation doesnt give us a clear depiction with all of its events. Here's what I think. Who cares WHEN he is coming. I'm going to be ready, if its before, great, if its during the middle, thats great too, and if its in the very end, glory be to God because it was his choice to do so, and we are all the better for it. Arguing over simple matters such as this tears people apart that should be friends, in the very worst circumstances. It also says that Lucifer will be given power to make war with the Saints, and overcome them. This is an indication that the second coming is not so close. There are amny views but they are irrelavent to the faithful Christian, because whenver the date is he/she is still going to the same place in the end, am I right? | |

| I wasn't arguing. The thing is, the Bible says "No one knows the day or the hour I am coming" Its exactly 7 years from the beginning to the end of the Tribulation, correct? And the Anti-Christ is going to to exalt himself as "the god" 3 1/2 years into it. Well then, if he does that, then all you have to do is count exactly 3 1/2 more years and you know the date Christ is coming back. So Lee, I would say you're the pessimistic one. | |
