| As to the poll, if Jackson had been in Ewell's position at Gettysburg, the battle would have been over the first day, as well as the war. But the man was not perfect by any means, he did have his bad days; remember the Seven Days? | |

| It's mind-numbing how many opportunities for totall victory were lost, by both sides, during the early days of the war. It is practically a history of military blunders, and yes, Jackson had his fair share. | |

| No joke there. When Grant had defeated Johnston at Pittsburg Landing, he pretty much could have taken the whole area, down to the coast of Louisiana and told Hallek so. Hallek wouldn't though, thus creating many years of pain and toil. | |
