I have been thinking about posting this one for some time.
While we were at Chancellorsville ( I think I spelled that wrong) I looked out at all the trees and heard the movement of many people and I could see many soldiers sneaking from one cover to the next. No matter which direction I looked there were soldiers all around. I wasn't frightened at all, knowing that they couldn't hurt us, but it was like we were in the mist of the conflict. Then we went to where General Jackson was shot by his own men. And I could see a cloud of smoke and I saw him on his horse and watched him get shot. I could hear the gunshots, the yelling and then the panic as the men realized they had shot their own General. I almost cried because the scene was so real and I could feel the terrible sadness of the soldiers as they realized what they had done.
