Gen. Jackson was a devout christian, infact, what some would call fanatical. I found this piece of history interesting: Jackson truely believed that his army was the army of the lord, so, he attempted to even equip his men like the armies of the bible! When the war ended, 20,000 pikes were found in Richmond warehouses that had been ordered by Jackson for his men. affraid True story. This is easier to believe when you think about his obsession with the bayonet.
