Adrocles.
Adrocles was born in the Shenedoah Mountains the third and last child of a mother widowed the night before his birth, for his father was killed by a slave owner on trumped up charges. He moved to New York after he was 16 and worked at the West Point Arms Factory, which produces weapons.
He found out when he was 21 that his two brothers were killed by jayhawkers in Missouri when they had supplied bushwhackers with weapons. When slave catchers started going through New York, trying to snatch blacks, he wrote pamphlets and spread the word to the blacks to be careful.
He decided to run for office and was elected mayor of the nearby town when he was 27. As civil war drew near, he was okay if the states left, but, if the president ever called for troops, he promised that he would join to stop rebellion.
The war broke out when he was 30, and he raised a zouvee company. He offered his services to Lincoln, who placed him with an artillery battery at Washington. He got his first taste of action under John Pope during the Northern Virginia Campaign, and participated at the Battle of Cedar Mountain. His guns halted several rebel charges but, when orders were given to retreat, his guns were nearly overrun by rebel cavalry. He famously said, “Kill the b-----ds boy!” and promptly blasted the rebels with a round of double canister, allowing them to escape.
He lost his first gun at 2nd Bull Run and then participated at Antietam, where his battery knocked out an entire battery of rebel artillery at the Cornfield. He was commissioned a colonel when McClellan left.
His men did not participate in the looting of Fredericksburg. His men were returned to Washington to recruit and recuperate from the fighting. As such, they missed out on the fighting at Chancellorsville. They returned to the Army and was placed in the III Corps. His entire battery was lost in the tragic fighting on July 2nd, and only 17 of his men answered roll-call that night. He immediately asked for a transfer, and was sent to serve in the II Corps.
He did not participate in the Mine Run Campaign, as he went home to New York marry his sweetheart. He would return in time to serve in all of the Overland Campaign battles under Grant. He had only 5 of the original men left when he received 70 men, 20 of whom were the despised bounty-jumpers. He told the bounty-jumpers that if he ever found them not doing their duty, he would personally run them through with his sword.
He was given a new battery, and was at Petersburg clear-up until his men were sent in early 1865 to assist in destroying Pickett’s Division at Five Forks. Once again, he proved himself a worthy soldier, as he threw back an attack single-handedly. He was promoted to a rank of general which was due to become official sometime in April.
His men were the first to fire upon the enemy lines when Lee’s lines were broken. Then, he helped hunt down Lee’s men during the Appomattox Campaign. Only the 9th, he awoke to learn that he was now a general. However, it was short-lived. When the Confederates broke through the front line of troops blocking their escape route. He was hit twelve bullet holes in his body, and his men forever remembered his final stand, where he refused to give up his guns.

| General Stuart.
Spencer Amaral (stuart) was born on the good ship, Hendricks, on a ship of immigrants fleeing the potato famine in Ireland. They settled in New York. His family was Protestant, and he was taught to be a faithful to the Bible.
His father, a prominent minister, wanted his son to take upon himself the ministry, but, he decided when he was ten to become a horse breaker. He moved to Glendale, Virginia, and took on with an elderly widow. He got a firsthand view of slavery, and despite his friendship with the widow, he despised the southern institution.
Spencer felt a tug to join the navy, and when war broke out, he sided with the North. He at once joined as a crew member of the Star of the West. However, he found that the Star of the West was not destined to fight in any battles, for it was recalled to patrol the Potomac waterway. He requested a transfer and got it, ending up on the U.S.S. Cumberland. He was a good shot, and was made a marine on the ship, and placed in the crows nest, where he could snipe any rebels.
His ship was placed to garrison Hampton Roads. He found again himself in a dull work, but, he soon found himself facing none other then the C.S.S. Virginia. He was the first to see the ship, and alerted his crew mates to the danger. The ship was soon ran aground during the fight with the rebel ship, and Spencer was thrown into the waters. He tried to swim to safety, but, rebel marines in the Virginia shot him like a dog. His body was recovered that night, hit by six bullets. He was about to become eighteen in five days.

Civility_C was born in Missouri in the dead of winter. She was the second child out of her family. She became associated with William Quantrill, and it was soon noticed that she was too ‘boyish’. She had an immense interest in anything dealing with war.
Despite her young age and morbid interests, when she turned fifteen, she became romantically involved with a young man from a pro-freesoiler. She quickly became engaged to him, on Christmas Day, 1860. However, her happiness would be shattered, when she learned that Fort Sumter had fallen, and Lincoln was calling upon 75,000 men to destroy the rebellion. Her finance told her he was joining the Union army. They became involved in a fierce argument, for she felt he couldn’t fight against the South. When it became certain that he would not be persuaded, they parted.
She became a seamstress and made 35 uniforms for the Confederate forces in the west. One of her uniforms was bought by Joseph Johnston when he assumed command of the Army of Tennessee, and he sent her parents a note, thanking them for raising such a fine lady.
In November 1864, terrible news reached her. Her estranged fiancée was badly wounded during an attack on Petersburg and it was doubtful that he would survive. She found herself soon on a train, heading for Petersburg, to see him. On the way, a Union soldier made an advance on her, and, in self defense, she killed him.
She found her fiancée, his leg amputated, and left hand missing three fingers. She was so horrified, that she had to be taken from the scene by a nurse. When she had sufficiently recovered from the shock, she learned that he would be sent home to Missouri. She went with him, and, while at her home, she nursed him back to health. On December Day, 1864, they were married.
They lived happily and had seven children, but only one survived infancy. Then, in 1888, when Civ and her husband were both killed when their boat capsized while going to New Orleans on business.

| Because you like blue, the ocean, and, you don't take chrap from people who want the blacks as slaves. Besides, the Confederates didn't have blue uniformed marines, otherwise, you probably would have ended up as a Confederate Marine. | |

| Traveller/Rebecca:
Rebecca was born in southern Texas in 1849, the last of nine children. Her father had been an aide-de-camp to Winfield Scott, and had been promoted to captain for bravery and valor. Her mother was an Irish woman, and full of adventure seeking.
When she was 7, her mother went on a driving tour of Northern Texas with her best friend, and she was killed by Cherokee Indians.
Rebecca’s father turned to alcohol to drown his grief, and he became very alcoholic. He turned to abuse, and nearly killed Rebecca one night. She became very frightened and fled. She didn’t stop fleeing until she reached Pennsylvania, where she decided to become a nun.
She went to the local monastery and after rigorous training, was allowed to take the vows of becoming a nun.
When Civil War broke out, she volunteered as a nurse for the Union Army. But, the higher echelons of command decided she shouldn’t be exposed to such bloodshed at such an early age, and revoked her application. Several times she requested to join, and each time she was denied.
Then, only July 6, 1863, she got her chance. Nurses were desperately needed to tend the 18,000 wounded. She was horrified by the tragedy of war, and was unable to stay for more then a week before leaving the scene of such suffering.
She eventually became the Reverend Mother of the abbey in 1880 and guided the many nuns in their duty to God. She died in 1901, when she went to Louisiana, and contracted Scarlet Fever.
