Your entire life has been spent farming the land you live on, as have the lives of your immediate family and several past generations of your family. And then it all ends abruptly, when Sherman marches through the deep south, and his men burn your barn, your house, take all of your livestock, any and all food, and destroy anything that's left that might allow you to rebuild. This is imagining that they don't rape your wife and daughters, or hang you and your sons for their own entertainment. What would be going through your head?

And that's where you reveal the limit of your knowledge, Oppie. If I might say so, accounts of the Army of Northern Virginia's march through the state of Maryland, and the city of Frederick in particular abound, all with nothing but praise for the conduct of the Southern soldiers and their officers. Unlike some officers *cough, Sherman, cough* General R.E. Lee and his immediate officers held high morals for themselves and their mens' conduct. We've already covered this point, Oppie, and you just sound ignorant saying that the south committed the same attrocites as Sherman, but north of the Potomac, because it simply isn't so, and that's fact.
