And yes your right. In truth the movies should have been nine hours long each on average. Heck I still would have watched them.

lol. The balrog scene was good, but I think it was too short to be compared with helm's deep. Still a highlight of the first film, though.

You better believe it was! And I know you have read the books so you must know that the battle continued a lot longer then it did in the movies.

The movie made it out that Gandalf and the Balrog weren't any good at fighting.

ya i thought the movies could have been longer. and the fight lsted long after the felloeship left Gandalf.

no problm oppie. IBG's right, they don't make the balrog or gandalf out to be that good at fighting. But I love it when Gandalf says "You shall not pass!!!" WHAT a powerful moment....seriously, most actors would butcher that line, Ian McKellan mastered it.

In the commentary for LOTR: FOTR, extended edition, he says that he was the one to tell Frodo and Sam to hold hand after Frodo wakes up in Rivendall. They didn't want to since he is gay. He says so in the commentary.

Well, now you know. If you have the EE, watch the actor commentary during the scene where Sam rushes in and holds Frodo's hand, exclaiming "Bless you Mr. Frodo, your awake!"

Yes, I did happen to know that McKellan is gay, he's a huge gay rights activist. Of course, I didn't say I agreed with his politics, I only commented on his acting ability.

He's a good actor. Christopher Lee is better though. I mean, he brings so much into everything, his lines, the way he does stuff.
