| Wow, we all like Gondor over Rohan, that is different. Probably because we read the books lol. And before, I never said I liked Rohan better, I said I'd probably fit in better with them, if you go by pure hair color. And PJ totally burned Gondor in the movies, check out this list: he makes Faramir almost sieze the ring he makes Boromir look like a so-so fighter in Moria he makes Denethor a nut he makes Denethor refuse to light the beacons, but then Denethor is upset when Rohan doesn't come to help in time he makes the individual soldier of Gondor appear as weaker than an orc, in both Minas Tirith and Osgiliath like IBG said, he makes the gondorian trebuchets have no ammunition, other than their own city and get this: in ROTK, we see Denethor walk from the citidel to his "pyre", which is around a few hundred yards. And then, after Denethor completely catches on fire, he is able to run all that distance back, and then run down that giant dividing platform, which easily doubles the distance, then jump to his death. All this with that great big coat on -on fire of course- and that heavy chain mail. Was Denethor a marathon runner, or did I miss something? | |

| He could have weilded it, but Tolkien himself wrote that NOBODY in middle earth (1 on 1) could defeat Sauron, for no one had equal natural powers (there were far greater evil powers, but that's another story). It takes inner power to weild the ring. According to Tolkien, if a person of more natural power than Sauron had weilded the ring, he/she could have turned the ring's alliegance from its maker to him/herself. Such a turn of the ring's alliegance would have been as crushing a blow to Sauron as though the ring was destroyed. And according to Tolkien, no person in middle earth had such natural power to control the ring and defeat Sauron, therefore, we must assume that Sauron vs. Aragorn, or anyone else among the free peoples as well, Sauron would win, even without the ring. | |

| what about Tom Bombadil, he had the power to use the ring but he chose not to. But if he were to use the ring I think he could have a fighting chance, but he chose to stay out of all the ring bessiness. | |

| Gandalf says he wouldn't even know what to do with it. He'd probably just lay it down and forget it. And, as for the ring, The Ring would have curropted Aragorn. He wasn't so perfect that he couldn't be curropted, because, news flash people, he was a little power hungry. Everyone is. | |

| He didn't take the ring no. But, if he did take the ring, his selflessness would have been curropted until he was a Dark Lord. That's why Gladrial refused to take it, and Even Gandalf. | |
