| Ok everyone, Obi-Wan vs. Mace Windu, both from Episode 3. Who wins? I'm going with Obi-wan. | |

| No, I think Mace's main power was in his negotiating. I've read books by Lucas that state to that effect. He could have loads of power over the mind, but he'd be wasting his time on another Jedi Master. Obi-wan wins. | |

| Windu wasnt such a bad melee fighter himself Stuart, remember how he took down bobo fett in about 5 seconds? And besides they didnt give Windu enough credit in the movies. | |

| you're right oppie they didn't give him much credit, I think Windu woulda beat Obi-one because he knows where people shatter points are using the force. I've also read books with Winmdu. | |

| He and Sidious were ina deadlock. Lucas said this about Palpy's fighting, "You (Mace) can never surpass him." They couldn't beat each other, for they were just as good. Mace's form of fighting, 7, was most effective when you absorbed the enemies rage and hatred, and blasted it back at them. That's how form 7 worked. That is why it was also so dangerous and was considered one step less of the dark side. If you could master it, you were the perfect fighter. But, if you didn't master it, you would fall. | |

| You people are talking in jibberish. Mace had the upperhand from the beggining, and paupatine was not easily exausted. Even though he was old, he had a lot of fight left in him. So you can forget that Stuart. | |

| Come on guys, I think he was winning too, but, Lucas himself says that Mace was never going to get the upper hand. I mean, when he unleashed on Yoda, he nearly defeated him by throwing stuff at him. What makes you guys think that this was any diffrent? He probably threw the fight so he would appear helpless to Anikan. | |

| He didnt throw the fight, thats ridiculous IBG. He was at the mercy of Mace, on the ground, with a light saber at his throat, I dont think he planned that. Especially considering the anger Mace had for him. | |

| Lucas said he did. Well, not exactly, but, the implication is there. So, in a sense, he did. Lucas says that if Plapatine was really wanting to take Mace out on his own before Anakin arrived, he wouldn't have had a problem, and Mace would have died. | |

| thats true oppie if palpatine wanted to kill Mace he could have but to make his plane work he had to make it look like Mace was winning and When Anakine killed Mace his path to the dark side was complete. | |

whatever. seems like you agree with me now, so, figure out where you stand. and I wasn't certain that Palpatine was already tired, I was just searching for a reason that might be plausible. Because, it's obvious that under normal conditions Mace wouldn't stand a chance versus Palpatine, so either Palpatine threw the fight as IBG stated, or for some unknown reason, he wasn't at his peak performance. But I think it does make sense, that Palpatine threw the fight. I know Oppie, it does look like Mace has the upper hand from the start, but then explain this: if Palpatine was truely so tired to the point of exhaustion, that he could fight no longer against Windu, where did he get all that energy from, when he screamed "UNLIMITED POWER!!!" and threw Mace out the window with the force lightning????? He was holding back, that's evident, so, yes, he did throw the fight in a sense, in that he only allowed Mace to appear as though he was winning when Anikin arrived. But you might say, if Palpatine really had everything under control, then why did he allow Windu to deform him and make his face look like a pile of blisters? Just remember, it's a movie. And they needed to find an easy way to explain how he ended up looking like he did in the later trilogy. | |
