Unknown Soldier

At Chancellorsville there is a grave of an unknown soldier, marked as such. The guide there tells that when the new highway was being built they unexpectedly dug him up and rather than moving his body far away, they put it next to the visitor center there. Not all that distant from where they found him. It is such a lonely grave but serves as a powerful reminder. Not all were accounted for and so it is in war.

Yeah, in fact thousands were thrown into shallow graves right on the battlefield, never to even see a tombstone sitting above them.

Well, they're dead. Of course they aren't going to see a tombstone above them silly child.
