Salem Church

I am sure alot of you have heard about Salem Church. It is a beautiful old church that was turned into a hospital. They had so many wounded there that the blood flowed out of the door. There were body parts stacked higher than a tall man. When we went there I saw the horrors of the war, it was another step back in time. When we got there I felt the familiar tension in the neck. It was so vivid the area where they had had to pile the limbs of many men. Picture seeing men laying all around, and looking into the church and seeing the men being operated on. I could literally see the blood flowing from the doorway. I couldn't step on the doorway, it was just so real I couldn't stand the thought of it. You can see in the church walls where the bullets kept hitting it as the people were helping the many wounded and dying. I could see the stacks of dead there. It was just impossible for them to have room in that tiny church yard for them to lay them out dignified.

Wow! I have never heard the whole story of that.

Now do you know why it took me so long to talk about it. It still hurts
